Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 2026 | Effective Date: January 2025

1. Overview

MakersDeck ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website at makersdeck.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your personal data.

By using MakersDeck you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.

2. Information We Collect

Automatically collected

When you visit MakersDeck, our hosting provider and analytics services automatically collect:

Information you provide

If you contact us at support@makersdeck.com or via our contact form, we collect only the information you include (name, email address, message content) solely to respond to your enquiry.

3. Your Learning Data Stays Local

We do not operate user accounts and we do not upload your circuits, programs, quiz history, notes, or progress to any server. All learning data — saved schematics, PLC programs, plant layouts, quiz answers, topic progress, calculator inputs — is stored only in your browser's IndexedDB (via Dexie) and localStorage.

Data namespaces include circuit-ir-v1, plc-…, mdform_… and similar. You can clear them any time via your browser's site-data settings.

Quizzes are graded entirely in your browser. When you press Submit, your selection is compared against an answer key that ships with the page; nothing is sent to any server, and no record of your submission is created or stored. The site works offline once loaded.

4. Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-3QXKV72FNH) to understand how visitors interact with our site. GA4 collects anonymised usage data including page views, session duration, navigation paths, and device/browser statistics.

IP anonymisation is enabled — your full IP address is truncated before storage. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by managing cookies in our consent banner.

5. Google AdSense & Advertising Cookies

MakersDeck may display advertisements served by Google AdSense (Publisher ID: ca-pub-5835616873951964). AdSense uses cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on prior visits to our website and other sites across the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time at Google Ads Settings or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.

All advertisements we serve comply with Google's advertising policies. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's Advertising Policies.

6. Cookie Policy

MakersDeck uses three categories of cookies:
