1. Overview

MakersDeck ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website at makersdeck.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your personal data.

By using MakersDeck, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.

2. Information We Collect

Automatically Collected Data

When you visit MakersDeck, our hosting provider and analytics services automatically collect the following information:

  • IP address (anonymised where possible)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system and device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referring URL (the page you came from)
  • Date and time of visit
  • Screen resolution and language settings

Information You Provide

If you contact us via email at support@makersdeck.com, we collect only the information you include in that message (your name, email address, and message content) solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not operate user accounts, require registration, or store payment information of any kind.

3. Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our site. GA4 collects anonymised usage data including page views, session duration, bounce rate, navigation paths, and device/browser statistics. This information helps us improve our tools, content, and user experience.

GA4 uses first-party cookies and similar tracking technologies. Data collected is transmitted to and processed on Google servers in the United States. Google may use this data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.

IP Anonymisation: We have enabled IP anonymisation in our GA4 configuration, which means your full IP address is truncated before storage and is never retained in full by Google Analytics.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by managing cookies through your browser settings.

4. Google AdSense & Advertising Cookies

MakersDeck displays advertisements served by Google AdSense (Publisher ID: ca-pub-5835616873951964). Google AdSense uses cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on users' prior visits to our website and other sites across the internet.

Personalised advertising allows Google to show ads relevant to your interests. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.

All advertisements displayed on MakersDeck comply with Google's advertising policies. We do not control the specific ads shown — these are determined by Google's automated systems based on page content and/or user interest signals.

Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's Advertising Policies.

5. Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. MakersDeck uses the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: Essential for the site to function and cannot be disabled. This includes sessionStorage entries that remember whether our splash screen has been shown, and basic browser session state. No personal data is stored in these.
  • Analytics Cookies: Set by Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymised usage statistics. Cookie names: _ga, _ga_XXXXXXX. Duration: up to 2 years. These are only set after you accept cookies via our consent banner.
  • Advertising Cookies: Set by Google AdSense and its advertising partners to serve personalised or contextual advertisements. Includes cookies such as IDE and NID. Duration: up to 13 months. These are only set after you accept cookies via our consent banner.

You can manage, block, or delete cookies at any time through your browser's settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect the performance of Google Analytics reporting and the relevance of displayed advertisements. It will not affect the functionality of our calculators, simulators, or other tools.

6. Local Browser Processing

The vast majority of MakersDeck's tools — including all electronics calculators, the digital logic gate simulator, MCU pinout viewer, PLC ladder simulator, image utilities, and audio tools — process all data entirely within your browser. No files, circuit designs, calculations, images, or audio recordings are transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Any data you enter into our tools (component values, circuit designs, images, etc.) exists only in your browser's memory and is automatically discarded when you close or refresh the page. We have no technical access to the content of your calculations or designs.

7. Third-Party Services

MakersDeck integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Google AdSense — Contextual and personalised advertising. Google Ads Policy
  • Google Fonts — Typography loaded from Google's CDN (fonts.googleapis.com). Google may log the request. Google Fonts Privacy FAQ

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@makersdeck.com and we will delete such information promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also provide a notice on the homepage. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
